The signalization and telecommunication system established within the scope of the project in compliance with the ETCS principles was designed as a substitute for the discordant security systems. It is a signalization, control and protection system frequently used in high-speed lines especially in European railways.
The project comprises the establishment of GSM-R fields in the Alsancak-Cumaovası-Torbalı-Tepeköy lines within the scope of the European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS).
The main two components of the ERTMS are the European Train Control System (ETCS) which is a standard for the train control inside the cabin and the GSM-R which is the mobile communication standard for GSM mobile communication.
